The subject of sexuality as relates to porn is one that is incredibly difficult to broach. It really is a bewildering world of contradictions where straight answers (if you know what I mean) are incredibly difficult to come by.
But who knew that quite a lot of gay women like watching gay male porn? Well, apparently Village Voice did in that article, and in the process made some fascinating and actually spot on points about why certain people of a certain sexuality might like pornography that might be quite the opposite of what they personally prefer.
Of course, it's not the same for everyone - Misty could not be less interested in male porn if she possibly tried! But the reasons behind why certain gay women might like to watch certainly make perfect sense to me. Although I can't imagine a future where we cover gay male sites in as much detail as we would like to where we're encouraging any reviewers to pitch his reviews at lesbians!
Nevertheless, it's certainly an eye-opener to say the least. The point they make about a lot of lesbian porn not actually being terrible attractive to many lesbians (but certainly not all) is one that has been a constant theme for many years in porn, and to be fair it doesn't look as though they anyone with greater resources than a small, independent outfit seem at all bothered about producing genuine lesbian porn.
But porn, perhaps more than any media-based industry, works on a simple principle - if it doesn't make much money then it's not interested. So don't expect the status quo change.
